GESTOR PEDAGÓGICO DA EUROPEAN SCHOOLNET ACADEMY

Benjamin Hertz é gestor pedagógico do projecto da European Schoolnet Academy, a primeira plataforma europeia MOOC dedicada a profissionais de educação K12. Ele também é responsável pela Teacher Academy no School Education Gateway, o site da Comissão Européia para a comunidade de educação escolar. Benjamin tem experiência em tecnologia educacional com foco particular em estratégias de e-learning para desenvolvimento profissional.


Educado como professor de sala de aula, tem estado envolvido no planeamento e entrega de projectos de aprendizagem online desde 2011. Em 2013, foi responsável pelo lançamento da European Schoolnet Academy, onde supervisionou e participou directamente na produção e entrega de MOOCs .


Benjamin também foi coordenador da iniciativa do Laboratório de Sala de Aula do Futuro, onde trabalhou com vários profissionais em educação para apoiar a inovação no ensino e aprendizagem. Antes de seu trabalho na European Schoolnet, lecionou história numa das seis principais universidades do Reino Unido, onde impulsionou a implementação do aprendizagem através da tecnologia e participou no lançamento de um novo sistema de aprendizagem e consultoria. 


Ele também ocupou cargos na Comissão Europeia e na Humboldt University Berlin, onde trabalhou em áreas relacionadas com tecnologia educacional. Licenciou-se no King's College London e possui um grau de MPhil em Política Europeia, bem como uma qualificação de professor pela Universidade de Oxford.

PEDAGOGICAL MANAGER OF THE EUROPEAN SCHOOLNET ACADEMY PROJECT

 

Benjamin Hertz is a pedagogical manager of the European Schoolnet Academy project, the first European MOOC platform dedicated to K12 education professionals. He is also responsible for the Teacher Academy on the School Education Gateway, the European Commission’s website for the school education community. Benjamin has a background in educational technology with a particular focus on e-learning strategies for professional development.


Educated as a classroom teacher, he has been involved in the planning and delivery of online learning projects since 2011. In 2013 he was responsible for the launch of the European Schoolnet Academy where he has overseen and participated directly in the production and delivery of MOOCs for teachers.


Benjamin was also coordinator of the Future Classroom Lab initiative where he worked with a range of educational stakeholders to support innovation in teaching and learning. Prior to his work for European Schoolnet, he was teaching history at one of the leading sixth form colleges in the UK where he drove forward the implementation of technology-enhanced learning and supported the roll-out of a new learning management system with training and advice.


He has also held positions at the European Commission and the Humboldt University Berlin where he was working on areas related to education technology. He is a graduate from King’s College London and holds an MPhil degree in European Politics as well as a teacher qualification from the University of Oxford.
