A Conferência Internacional Making Learning Meaningful – Implications for Teachers Training é uma iniciativa enquadrada num projeto Erasmus+, designado NESTT – New European Settings for Teachers and Teaching, do qual a Casa do Professor é a entidade coordenadora, tendo como parceiros a European Schoolnet (Bélgica), a Asociatia Edulifelong (Roménia), a New Culture and Education Association (Polónia), o Instituto das Comunidades Educativas (Setúbal – Portugal), o Agrupamento de Escolas de Maximinos (Braga – Portugal) e o Agrupamento de Escolas Dr. Francisco Sanches (Braga – Portugal).
O projeto NESTT tem na sua origem na palavra ninho (NEST), associado ao nascimento, ao crescimento e ao espaço onde se dá um outro valor à diversidade na educação, numa aposta na igualdade de oportunidades de sucesso escolar e educativo, convicções e valores centrais da parceria estratégica em que assenta este projeto.
O principal objetivo deste consórcio é intervir sobre o olhar tradicional orientado para o modo como os professores ensinam, construindo uma perspetiva que conceba a sua formação a partir de dois pressupostos fundamentais:
i) Como aprendem as crianças e jovens, enquanto alunos, em contextos formais e não formais;
ii) Como podem os professores fazer a diferença neste processo, considerando a imprescindível aposta no seu desenvolvimento profissional.
A conferência Making Learning Meaningful – Implicações para a Formação Contínua de Professores é por isso uma oportunidade de debate a partir do modo como crianças e jovens aprendem no século XXI, resultante da investigação realizada no âmbito deste projeto, ocasião para refletir sobre o perfil dos alunos à saída da escolaridade obrigatória, relacionando-o com o modo como deve ser orientada a formação de professores, sistematicamente identificada como prioritária por diversos organismos nacionais e internacionais.
O conhecimento que se pretende produzir e disseminar a partir da Casa do Professor vai contribuir, de forma sustentada e inovadora, para a necessária mudança no desenvolvimento profissional docente, formando-os para estas realidades e, consequentemente, para uma adequação do ensino nas escolas. Este evento vai reunir uma série de especialistas de universidades, instituições governamentais e não governamentais, decisores políticos, investigadores, professores e todos os interessados na educação, unidos na melhoria da qualidade das aprendizagens dos alunos e da formação de professores.
The International Conference Making Learning Meaningful – Implications for Teachers Training is an event inserted in Erasmus+ Project, called NESTT – New European Settings for Teachers and Teaching, which Casa do Professor is the coordinator entity,nthat has with partners the European Schoolnet (Belgium), the Asociatia Edulifelong (Romania), a New Culture and Education Association (Poland), the Instituto das Comunidades Educativas (Setúbal – Portugal), the Schoool joint of Maximinos (Braga – Portugal) and School joint of Dr. Francisco Sanches (Braga – Portugal).
The NESTT project – New European Settings for Teachers and Teaching comes up from the word NEST, associated with birth, growth and space where another value is given to diversity in education, with a focus on equal opportunities academic and educational success, beliefs and core values of the strategic partnership on which this project is based.
The intention of this consortium is the intervention on the traditional look oriented to the way teachers teach, constructing a perspective that conceives the formation of teachers from two fundamental presuppositions:
1. How children and young people learn as students, in formal and non-formal contexts;
2. How can teachers make a difference in this process, considering the indispensable bet in their professional development.
The International Conference, Making Learning Meaningful, Implications for Teachers’ Training, is being set up to create opportunities for debate based on the way that Children and Young People learn in the 21st century, results that emerge from the Project, reflecting on the profile of students at leaving compulsory schooling, relating how should be the teachers’ training, which has been continuously identified as a priority by several national and international bodies.
The knowledge, that is intended to produce and disseminate from Casa do Profssor will contribute, in a sustained and innovative way, to the necessary change in the professional development of teachers, training them to this new realities, and consequently for a more adequatly teaching in schools. This event will bring together a wide range of specialists from universities, governmental and non-governmental institutions, together with policy makers, researchers, teachers and all those interested in education, united in improving the quality of our students' learning, research and practice of teacher education.
